TRAVEL AGENTS IN SPAIN
The life of a travel agent has been becoming increasingly difficult over the
past few years. Airlines are offering cheaper flights and the internet is
providing reduced rates on hotels and so your everyday travel agent is having
to work much harder to make their sales.
It is possible to find both Spanish and English speaking travel
agencies in Spain . There are many different travel companies that set up tours
and packages for holiday makers and even though travelling abroad is not as
popular in Spain as it is in the UK (in 2001 91% of Spaniard went on holiday
within Spain and on 9% went abroad)) there are still a large number of options
for travelling abroad. When looking for a travel agent it is advisable to look
around as there are many of them and also there prices and package types can
change quite significantly. If you shop around then you are more likely to find
the right package for you at the right price.
Many travel companies also have online sites and these can sometimes work out
cheaper than if you book it in the shops although sometimes the packages can
vary slightly. Even if you book it online you still need to read the policy
details and the contract fully. Also don't just assume that it is the same as
if you booked it in the shop because as with some of the packages some of the
policy details may also slightly vary.
CONTRACTS:
If you are booking your holiday with a travel agent and you book a package
holiday (normally the case if booking with a travel agent) then there should
always be a contract that you need to sign. Before signing the contract (and
therefore making it official) the travel agency should make you aware of all
the terms and conditions of the holiday. Then before final payment is made you
should be presented with a written copy of all the terms and conditions of your
holiday along with dates, times, travel arrangements, the price etc. These
contracts should be signed by both you and the travel agent before the total
payment is made. Also included in these contracts should be the implications
should any of the details above change or should one of the parties wish to
terminate the contract. It is also advisable for you to read the document
separately a second time just to make sure that you fully understand all
aspects of your holiday.
