COST OF LIVING IN SPAIN

Road tax in Spain is cheap (on average between 39 and 84 euros) compared to
the UK , car insurance is about the same price. However should you wish to
insure your UK car in Spain then it is very expensive so you are probably
better off buying a Spanish car as soon as you are able to. With regards to
buying second hand cars in Spain it is not like the UK where you can buy them
for a couple of hundred pounds. It is more expensive in Spain.
When flying to Spain from the UK there are many low budget airlines from the
UK . Airlines such as Ryan Air and Easy Jet fly to many areas in Spain
regularly. However once you are in Spain you may find that it can be difficult
to find the same priced flights to other European cities. Although this is not
impossible you just need to spend a bit more time searching.
One important thing to remember if you are going to Spain to live and work is
that you should not constantly be converting things back to 'what it would have
cost in the UK'. This is not the way to be. If you are on a Spanish wage and
living in Spain then you will have to start thinking in the Spanish currency
otherwise you may find yourself getting into financial difficulty.
